Chora is a spatial and scenographic group based in Leuven, Belgium. Founded in 2020 by Michiel Wouters and Nathan Kolenberg, the group grew out of the earlier collective Rauw, which existed from 2018 to 2020. It now includes Luna Baron, Marte Forier, Sylvan Nelissen, and Alischa Pelgrims. Chora creates and hosts events that mix nightlife, scenography, and spatial design. They produce immersive parties where music, light, and architecture come together in one continuous experience.
At its heart, Chora focuses on atmosphere. We design events where space is not just a container but an active participant. By using scenographic interventions, custom-built installations, well-tuned lighting, and spatial arrangements, we guide how people move, meet, and change throughout the night. Our work balances technical precision with emotional depth.
We don’t just organize parties; we create environments. Each event is a team effort. We design our own entrances, booths, light structures, and spatial flows to create atmospheres that offer both intensity and softness. Some moments are loud and ecstatic, while others are intimate and slow. Chora embraces both.
A key part of our philosophy is creating safe(r) spaces. We believe that parties should allow people to be themselves without judgment, pressure, or control. We focus on circulation, visibility, sound levels, material feel, and group awareness. Through thoughtful design and clear communication, we strive to create spaces of trust, connection, and transformation.
Chora operates independently, driven by collaboration, care, and curiosity. Our scenographies are temporary; they are meant to dissolve and live briefly, to be remembered in fragments of light, rhythm, and touch. We don’t believe in fixed categories. We build spaces that are fluid, energized, and full of life.
